Spring minis are here!

We'll be shooting in the Springtime set on Saturday, March 28th, starting at 10 a.m..

Urban goodness

Angela and I went out for a field trip the other day around East Austin, scouting for locations to use for urban minis.

These are from the public library (George Washington Carver branch).  Best in the afternoon.

These are from E. 11th St.  This is probably my favorite little spot, because it has so many available shooting areas and can really be used any time of day, as some of them are best in the morning and some in the afternoon.

This is a crazy little building that we call "Super Alright" because of a banner on its front.  There's also a weird stage (the steps with graffiti are part of it) in walking distance.  It's at 3rd & Chicon.  Best in the afternoon.

This is a closed-down club on Cesar Chavez at Lynn.  Very cute.  Little turquoise fence right across Lynn.  Best in the morning.

Very cool mural on the side of a bookstore at Cesar Chavez at San Marcos.  Best in the afternoon.

I LOVE this place.  It's right across Cesar Chavez from Seaholm Power Plant.  Town Lake is in the background.  Best in the afternoon.

Sweet baby in the clover

{The first photo here is a full-resolution image, so you can see how rich that green clover is!  The rest are web-sized, as usual.}

This precious little park is right around the corner from my house.  I just love the rich clover patches.  It would be a great spot for some St. Patty's day stuff!  Anyway, be sure to request a trip over there if you'd like!  The clover is in the shade (best for photographing) in late afternoon.  I took these around 4:30.  We could even go later if we want to use any non-shaded areas.  I love the ones of him lying on his back.

Another baby for an old client

This hilarious couple first came to me when I was shooting in my old dining room.  They were pregnant with their first child.  Here comes #2!

The Incredible Jack

The Hulk photos below were the inspiration for the session, but I also managed to get some really beautiful close-ups of him.  Photo #2 in this post is his "Bad Danger" face (as he calls it), which usually immediately precedes a punch in the hip or some other random act of mini-violence.  I usually stay away when he looks like that.  But as you can see, he changes quickly.  :)

Jack's Godfather, Tommy, gave him this Hulk mask and hands set for Christmas.  I've been dying to take some photos of him wearing it.  His little eyes look so funny peeking out of that big, angry face!  To see the entire session, log into the "clients" section of the Web site with this password:  jack
